A now that Spring is here it's time to get back to it!!!!  So back to working on the list.
Here is the list:

1. Fix the  A/C
2. Finish the Guest Closet
3. Fix the Roof Leak
4. Septic Tank Pumped
5. Fix the Garage Doors

With all the Dollie Drama as of late... I now have to lock her in the house when I leave for work at 8:30 in the morning.  She is having way too much trouble walking and climbing through the Doggie door is too difficult for her.  I don't want her to get stuck out there in the elements (Heat & storms).  I went through this with Lucy and we are here ( Read more... )

I used to have a crappy lawn.  It had no turf, it was just thin grass on a thin layer of dirt.  But over the years, I've worked on it and have a great foundation for my Lawn.  Aaaaand Weeds.  First I was infested with Henbit... So Sunday I decide I'm going to take the boards from the fence and power wash them.  Then when they dry out, I can cut them down to usable planks for the table I'm working on.  There is something like 45 pickets... I was only able to clean 21.  My day's plans changed from Picket Cleaning to Bug Killing...

I am not sure what day I accomplished this it was either Monday or Tuesday of this week...  The Big Island got somewhat cleaned up and I reworked the castle brick walls and used the extra few bricks to raise the Fire Pit a level.  I have some Grill grates I want to put on the Fire Pit... I just haven't raised it high enough yet.

I hate working in the Front Yard.  I don't like being bothered by the constant barking of the Neighbor's Dogs & Kids... Plus Dollie gets upset because she can't get to me.  So to the back yard I go.  So much work needed back here.  Drainage issues - rotting yard timbers - overgrown flower beds - no mulch anywhere - dead lawn - patches of dead soil ( Read more... )

I have been very lax in taking pictures and making log entries about the yard rehab.  My goal has been to get out of work by 5:30pm and get into the back yard by 7:00pm.  That would give me a couple of hours to work in the back yard on little cleanup projects at a time - so I can leave big honking all day projects for Saturday and Sunday.  By the ( Read more... )

You know I try and do at least one big project when I have a 3 day weekend.  This Memorial day, I chose the front yard.  I have let the front of the house kind of go for the last couple of years.

Here is what it looked like I want to say... 2006 and then 2009?  It's pretty manicured, but starting to take over the front of the house.

So sometime in the 80's - which for me lasted till around January 1993 - I bought a storage bin for some reason.  It was probably because I thought the closing clasp mechanism was cool.  It keeps thing pretty dry and I leave it in the back yard to store scrap wood destined for the fire pits.  You should get the 80's vintage vibe just by the color ( Read more... )
